Privacy

Your case data belongs to you.

AppealOne treats everything you upload as sensitive information about your livelihood.

This document is a working draft prepared for review. It must be reviewed and approved by counsel before launch.

What we collect

Account information you provide (name, email, preferred language, timezone and optional phone number), the story and documents you supply about your case, and records of how you use the product.

We never ask for your gig-platform password, and you should never share it with us.

Evidence and file storage

Evidence files are stored in private storage. They are never served from public URLs; access requires authorization and time-limited signed links.

Voice and transcription

If you choose to use a voice feature, AppealOne processes microphone audio to create a text transcript of what you say.

AppealOne does not retain the raw audio recording. Audio is used for the transcription request and is discarded after that transcription process. The resulting text may become part of your case in the same way as information you type.

AppealOne only accesses your microphone after you grant permission through your browser or device. You can use AppealOne without using voice features.

AI processing

Analysis is performed server-side by configured AI providers. We record which provider received which category of data, and we minimize identifiers that are not needed for the analysis.

Access by AppealOne personnel

Authorized reviewers, administrators, and support personnel may access case information when reasonably necessary to provide the Service, perform quality or safety review, assist a user, investigate a technical or security issue, or carry out other authorized operating functions.

AppealOne uses role-based access controls to limit access to sensitive case information.

AppealOne also records audit events for certain sensitive staff actions, including activities such as accessing an individual case, opening evidence, editing drafts, making review decisions, and recording case outcomes. Not every navigation or internal system read generates a separate audit event.

Deleting information

You may request deletion of your AppealOne account and personal information, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and recordkeeping requirements.

If you want an uploaded evidence file removed from your case and the product does not provide a self-service removal control, you may contact AppealOne support to request its removal. Some information may need to be retained where reasonably necessary to comply with law, preserve required records, investigate security or fraud, or resolve disputes.

Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove copies contained in backups, which may remain until those backups are overwritten or expire through our normal storage processes.

Data retention

AppealOne retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the Service and for legitimate purposes described in this Policy. These purposes may include maintaining an active or historical case record, allowing you to return when a platform responds, protecting the Service from fraud or abuse, resolving disputes, maintaining required consent or audit records, and complying with legal obligations.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and applicable requirements.

AppealOne is developing formal retention schedules for its different categories of data. Until those schedules are finalized, we do not publish fixed retention periods that could inaccurately describe our actual practices.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, AppealOne may delete, de-identify, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with its applicable retention practices.
